So happy to have found your Substack :) I center and celebrate Indian characters in my historical romance, some set in the Regency era and some in historical India (and other eras too). Looking forward to reading more from you!
I cannot remember enjoying this much the outrageous history of someone I’d never heard of before today. Even in the early 19th century there were women rebels of the patriarchy. I am in need of education! Thank you for all your research and bringing Caroline of Brunswick to my attention.
I’ve thought she was cool for many years (imagine being face-to-face for the first time with your bloated, corseted & skunk-drunk husband-to-be who then reviles you!) but didn’t know some of these details - looking forward to more. Thank you! Can’t wait to read your book!
So excited for your book because she was such a fascinating person with a wild life!

She’s so interesting, I was also disappointed to see not many works on her!
This story is such a wild one. Imagine it happening today?!?
This is an extremely engaging and funny piece. What a character she was and so impressive. Looking forward to seeing / learning more.
This whole post was AMAZING and I absolutely can’t wait to read your book!

This was a fantastic overview of her life. I laughed so much. The parallels to modern day are seriously absurd. What a woman! *standing ovation*
Caroline resembles Meryl Streep.
Oh wow she does! I never noticed
RIP Prinny, Caroline would always be 100x cooler than you
